Today the spotlight is on the women in our business as we celebrate and raise awareness for International Women’s Day (IWD).

When did you join ABN AMRO?
I started my journey at ABN AMRO Bank in February 2017 at the Service Desk for Commercial Clients in Utrecht. One year later, in March 2018, I moved to ABN AMRO Asset Based Finance to work for ABN AMRO Lease. Initially I took on the role of Contracting Officer and now work in Commercial Support.

Where did you come from?
When I started working for ABN AMRO I came straight out of college. I studied at the Hotel Management School of Maastricht with a specialisation in New Business Development.

What is your role here at ABN AMRO?
My role at ABN AMRO Lease is Commercial Support. So, I support the Account Managers in their daily jobs and am the first contact point for our clients.

What’s the biggest value-add your role brings to clients?
I bring our clients the answers to their questions. In Commercial Support we are the first point of contact for our clients. So whether they have questions about contracts, payments or requests, we work together to provide them with answers.

Who do you mainly interact with?
I mainly interact with clients and the Account Managers. The interaction with my fellow colleagues across different departments is really important to provide a smooth and quick process for our clients.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Making things happen for our clients. Sometimes it is a challenge and other times it might be really easy, but the best feeling is to satisfy our clients.

What does this year’s International Women’s Day theme #BalanceforBetter mean to you?
‘’I will celebrate Women’s achievements’’ - Do I need to say more? We have accomplished so much over the years and we need to keep going. We need to be in balance, with ourselves and everyone around us.

Who is a female you admire and why?
My grandmother is my role model. She worked so hard her whole life and now she is really enjoying her well-deserved retirement. She is still is so fit and goes to the gym three times a week, so still looks very good. She has so many friends and goes out on a regular basis. I really hope I will follow her footsteps.

Where do you live?
I live in the beautiful 's-Hertogenbosch, in southern Netherlands.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Family and friends are very important to me, so that’s what I like to spend my spare time on. That is mostly combined with food and drinks. I also like to play tennis and since I was a little girl I perform ballet, which I still do.

What is your favourite film?
I like movies a lot in general. I probably go to the cinemas about two to three times a month. So I have seen a lot of movies. My old time favourite would still be; Notting Hill. So sweet, but so good.

What is your favourite kind of meal?
I just love all Italian food. Pizza, pasta, Italian desserts... Everything is better in Italy.

What was your earliest ambition?
My earliest ambition was definitely to become a professional dancer. Luckily that didn’t work out, because then I literally would be too old for the business within the next five years! I still love to dance, but only for fun and not as a profession. And I found a really good second ambition in Financial Services.
